Shear Art Salon & Day Spa to Offer Services at Reduced Rates to Benefit Breast Cancer, HIV/AIDS and Pediatric Cancer Research and Treatment at City of Hope

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) June 24, 2004 -- Celebrating ten years of the successful HopeCuts benefit, Shear Art Salon & Day Spa will open its doors on July 11th. Generously giving up their day off, the Shear Art staff will donate their time and treat patrons to a variety of services, including haircuts and manicures at a discounted price. All proceeds will benefit research, treatment and education programs in breast cancer, HIV/AIDS and pediatric cancer and other life-threatening illnesses at City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute.

Guests are encouraged to make appointments now, since space is limited to between 12 p.m. 5 p.m. Shear Art Salon & Day Spa is located at 13110 N. Dale Mabry and appointments can be made at 968-4836.

This is the tenth year of the HopeCuts fundraiser, and were so excited to have the support of so many great salons again, said Tracy Anderson, event coordinator at City of Hope. This event is a fun, easy way for people to pamper themselves for a great price, while knowing their helping contribute to a very important cause.

HopeCuts has taken place at various salons across the country since its beginnings at one salon in Philadelphia in 1993. Last year alone, more than $160,000 was raised for research and treatment at City of Hope. For more information about City of Hope or HopeCuts, contact Tracy Anderson at City of Hope at 847-583-8600 or visit www.hopecuts.org.

The City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is one of the worlds leading research and treatment centers for cancer and other serious diseases, including diabetes and HIV/AIDS. The work conducted at City of Hope is shared with medical centers worldwide.
